Cell Phone Unlocked Blackberry Torch

Can I use an unlocked Verizon phone with a T-mobile plan?

I currently have a plan with T-mobile and I need a new cell phone. I want to purchase a Blackberry Torch but t-mobile does not have it for sale in their stores or website. So I looked to Ebay and found several, but I noticed that almost all of them were Verizon phones that were unlocked.

*This is the part where I get perplexed.*

To my knowledge Verizon phones don’t use SIM cards. T-mobile and AT&T do use SIM cards. So is it possible to use a Verizon phone with a t-mobile plan even though Verizon phones don’t use sim cards and t-mobile phones do? …I’m sorry if my question is difficult to comprehend; I’m just SO confused!!! o_O

No. AT&T and tmobile are based off of GSM technology, sprint and verizon are based offs CDMA technology. Their phones are not ompatible with each other.

On a side note, sprint and verizon are also not compatible with each other because of how CDMA networks are operated.

P.S – only GSM technology uses sim cards, that’s how you can tell the difference. You can make one gsm phone work on any othe gsm service. That’s why you don’t want to buy with verizon or sprint.
