Running out of money in college Credit cards or loans?
Little background info. U.S. Veterans in Illinois.My tuition is 100% paid for, and i get a check of $1300 a month to pay for books and housing, i/m debt free. BUT my check hasn’t came in yet, but i received like $360 last week. Joining a frat..wants $350 by next month, $80 by the end of this week, and I have a car, can’t pay for gas, cell phone bill, car insurance or other things(tolls, repairs, restaurants, unknown stuff, fees, tickets?, new clothes, etc.). Should I take out a small student loan of like $5000? Or just get a small credit card with a smaller amount? Trying to get a small job, not lots of positions.
You will definitely want a loan instead of a credit card. Credit card you earn interest while in school regardless and often backfires in a situation like this. Loan no interest charged while in school, and you don’t have to make payments while in school. So you have more breathing room to build up and save then pay it off.
