Electronics and harmful radiation?

If a television set is physically damaged or exposed to extreme heat/cold, but still OPERATES, could it potentially give off harmful radiation when it is operating?

What about cell phones? Aren’t there reports that talk about brain cancer being related to excessive cell phone exposure/use? Well, what if a phone is physically abused and/or exposed to extreme temperatures? Could that destroy any effective protection and make it even more dangerous in terms of radiation levels?

In other words, is it possible for a damaged electronic that still operates to give off dangerous radiation?

All most electronics are are a battery attached to a complex computer chip which is really nothing more than an intricate filigree of small “wires” (actually a conducting surface for a computer chip, but they act as one in the same), a battery, and a few other components such as transistors, capacitors, etc.
Because the current running through the wires is very small, so is the induced magnetic field caused by the current, so it would not have any real impact on ones brain (and if magnetic fields did have a serious impact on one’s brain, machines utilizing high magnetic fields such as an MRI machine would be put off the market). As for the EM radiation given off by cell phones, this is no more intense than the billions of radio and cosmic waves passing through your head every second. The only real chance for damage would be because of a broken battery, and that comes with its own hazards.
In short, there are things in our environment that are much worse for us than electronics and in a sense, electronics are comparitively harmless.
I hope this clears up the commonly held fear about cell phone radiation and that caused by other electronics
